The nicest notification a small shop can get is "you made a sale". This scenario listens for a new sale, sends you a short Telegram message with the product and amount, and appends a row to a sheet so month-end takes minutes instead of an afternoon.
What you need
A Gumroad or Shopify shop, a Telegram account plus a bot created with BotFather (two minutes, free), a Google Sheet, and a free Make account.
The five steps
- Create a Telegram bot with BotFather and copy the token. Send your bot one message so it knows your chat.
- In Make, start with the shop's sale trigger: Gumroad Watch New Sales or the Shopify orders trigger. Instant triggers fire within seconds of the sale.
- Add Telegram Bot Send a Text Message or a Reply with a message like: New sale: {{product}} for {{amount}} from {{country}}.
- Add Google Sheets Add a Row with date, product, amount, buyer country and order id.
- Turn it on and buy your own cheapest product once to see the whole chain fire.
Useful extras
Send refunds and cancellations to the same chat with a different emoji so you see both sides. Add a weekly total using the report guide.
What this does not do
It does not replace your shop's own payout reports; treat the sheet as a working log, not the accounting truth. Telegram must be able to reach your bot, so do not delete the chat.
Cost
Two or three operations per sale. Hundreds of sales a month still fit the free plan.
